Site scoping times and costs reduced significantly

Introduction

A leading UK facilities management company, our client oversees millions of assets across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, security, and environmental services. To remain competitive against other consultancies, they must conduct rapid, reliable biodiversity assessments.

Problem

To secure new projects, our client needed to conduct biodiversity assessments as part of site scoping. However, manual surveys were not scalable, making it increasingly difficult for our client to maintain consistent service quality across a growing number of sites.  Without rapid, reliable data, they risked losing clients to other consultancies. Traditional methods took weeks per site, delaying proposals and increasing costs. They needed a faster, cost-effective solution to stay competitive and demonstrate ecological value at scale.

Our Solution

The client implemented Gentian True Sight, an AI-driven remote sensing tool that delivered fast biodiversity baselines and connectivity insights for three sites, as well as, an automated desk study of all designated sites within a 5km buffer, as well as protected species within a 2km buffer. By integrating high-resolution satellite and aerial imagery, it provided accurate, up-to-date habitat data, eliminating the need for costly manual surveys. This allowed the client to rapidly assess sites, strengthen proposals, and gain a competitive edge. Unlike traditional methods, Gentian True Sight offered a scalable, repeatable, and cost-effective approach to biodiversity assessments.

Results

With Gentian True Sight, the client cut site scoping time significantly, enabling fast biodiversity assessments. High-resolution habitat data improved reporting accuracy and planning, while connectivity and desk study insights strengthened proposals. Automating assessments reduced costs, enhanced efficiency, and increased client retention, securing projects against other consultancies.
