Gentian Nominated for the Earthshot Prize 2024

We are pleased to announce that Gentian has been acknowledged by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and nominated for the distinguished Earthshot Prize 2024.  Our innovative use of AI and deep learning techniques to identify vegetation in both urban and rural landscapes has earned us a spot among the world's leading environmental solutions.

At Gentian, we are committed to delivering precise and current data to assist organizations in understanding biodiversity and evaluating their environmental impact. Our innovative methodology for quantifying natural capital enables businesses to make well-informed decisions and supports their participation in initiatives such as the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

The Earthshot Prize 2024 will take place in South Africa, marking its debut in the region. The event will span five days, commencing with an Awards Ceremony in the scenic city of Cape Town. We are honored to participate and eager to showcase our solutions to a global audience during this landmark event.

The Earthshot Prize celebrates innovative solutions contributing to the achievement of at least one of five Earthshots. The five Earthshots represent five ambitious challenges for 2030. These goals include protecting and restoring nature, cleaning our air, reviving our oceans, building a waste-free world, and fixing our climate by 2030.

Gentian was nominated for their pioneering work in remote habitat mapping using satellite imagery and AI, a service with great potential to accelerate the protection and restoration of nature.
